i leave my office and my brother calls me to tell me the power was out at his office which was a good 30-35 miles from where i was at

as soon as i crossed the pt pleasant bridge on the way home the whole world was completely dark

cops at every intersection because traffic lights were out

turns out one of the biggest substations in the state blew up.......like fireball in the sky blew up

95% of monmouth county (where im at) and some houses in 3 surrounding counties lost power

some for hours because of that

i really thought that the end was upon us

pretty crazy [censored] but the power company explanation was the best.......first they refused to take responsibility for it but then put out this gem........"it isnt a transmission problem........its a distribution problem"
